Our 2020 & 2021 winner, tenor ALEJANDRO LUEVANOS, will begin his first year in the Ryan Opera Center of the Chicago Lyric Opera in May, 2022. Our 2019 & 2020 singer, soprano JIMENA MONTSERRAT, entered the master’s degree program in opera performance at Rice University’s Shepherd School of Music in Houston, TX, in August, 2021. She made her mainstage debut at the Chicago Lyric Opera in September, 2021, in the role of Giannetta in L’elisir d’amore. In our second year, 2019, she went on to the semi-final and final audition rounds of the Competition on the stage of the Metropolitan Opera and on March 1, 2020, became the first Mexican Singer ever to be named a national winner of the MetOpera National Council auditions. DENIS VELEZ, 2018 & 2019 audition winner, is in her third year in the Ryan Opera Center young artist program of the Chicago Lyric Opera. Louis and with the National Opera Company of Chile.
